New Women’s and Junior Champions at Flying Scot North Americans

Bay St. Louis, MS (June 21, 2015) – Steady seabreeze in the afternoon provided perfect conditions for the 2015 Flying Scot Women’s and Juniors’ North American Championship, hosted by Bay Waveland Yacht Club.

In the Women’s division, Shelley Caplan of Bay Waveland Yacht Club (Bay St. Louis, MS) finished first, Greta Mittman of Corinthian Sailing Club (Dallas) finished second and Melanie Dunham of Deep Creek Sailing Club (Maryland) finished third.

In the Juniors, Drew Hayward (Davis Island Yacht Club, Tampa) finished first. Andrew Tripani (Bay Waveland Yacht Club) was second and Nick Lovell (Southern Yacht Club, New Orleans) finished third.

The qualifying races for the 2015 Flying Scot North American Championships begin tomorrow with the event concluding on June 26.
