Max Brill and Andrew Person win 29er US Nationals

Twenty-six teams competed at the 29er US Nationals on July 23-25, hosted by Richmond Yacht Club in Richmond, CA. Ten races were held on San Francisco Bay, with Max Brill and Andrew Person winning the final two races to take the title on countback over Nic Muller and Ian MacDiarmid.

Event Recap
On Day 1, Nic Muller and Ian MacDiarmid (Florida) set a great pace – scoring a low 4 points for the first three races of the series.

On Day 2, Max Brill and Andrew Person (California) had the best race results with a 1-2-1-5 to move within 4 points of Nic and Ian with the series now scoring a discard.

On Day 3, Jacob Rosenberg and Rhodes Garner (California) won the day with finishes of 1-2-3, moving up to third overall. Max and Andrew closed strong by winning the final two races to tie with Nic and Ian, winning the tiebreaker to take the US National title.

Max and Andrew also won the Top Junior Team award, while Julia Paxton and Nina Viggi, who finished 13th, won the top Female Team award.
