Published on May 22nd, 2016

As a prelude to the 2016 YANMAR Moth Worlds on May 24-29 in Hayama, the Japan National Moth Championships was held May 21-22 for 66 competitors.

After light winds on the first day allowed for only one race, better conditions on day two provided four additional races to complete the championship.

The overall title went to Paul Goodison (GBR) while Kohei Kajimoto (JPN) in sixth overall won the Japanese Nationals.

Seventy-three entrants representing 12 countries will sail as one fleet at the Moth Worlds with 15 races scheduled.
