Goodison Takes Over Lead at Moth Worlds

Published on May 26th, 2016

Hayama, Japan (May 26, 2016) – The third day of the YANMAR Moth Worlds 2016 took its toll on the fleet as strong southerly winds overnight made for tough terrain today. Capsizes and breakages plagued the fleet as they sought to navigate the largest waves of the event.

Paul Goodison (GBR), 2008 Beijing Olympic gold medalist in the Laser Class, dominated with a 1-1-3 to take the lead from fellow Brit Chris Rashley who now sits just one point back.

Tomorrow (May 27) is the lay day, which comes just in time for the fleet to make repairs for the final two days of competition on May 28-29 when decreasing winds are expected.
