Live Coverage: Extreme Sailing Series Muscat

The Extreme Sailing Series™ returns for 2017 with Act 1, Muscat on March 8-11, the first stop on an eight-Act global tour that will visit three continents over 10 months.

Nine teams, representing seven nations, with 40 of the world’s finest sailors on board, will compete on the waters in front of the Al Mouj Golf course, as they start their season-long campaigns to claim the coveted Series title, currently held by Swiss team Alinghi.

There will be live video streaming available on Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11, as well as graphics provided by SAP analytics daily Thursday to Saturday, March 9 to 11.

The 3 hour live streaming programme, produced by Red Handed TV, includes fixed onboard cameras delivering the action from the water, shore side cameras, interviews from the race course and graphics delivered by SAP Sailing Analytics. The expert commentary team includes pro sailing commentators Niall Myant and Andy Rice.

Background: The Extreme Sailing Series is in its eleventh season, with this year’s eight event tour travelling through Asia, Europe, and Australia. The platform used is the one design foiling GC32 catamaran, with the format highlighting ‘stadium’ short-course racing in front of the public.
