Annapolis, MD (May 5, 2017) – The first day of racing at the Helly Hansen National Offshore One Design (NOOD) Regatta in Annapolis was canceled today due to inclement weather. Racing is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 11 a.m. and conclude Sunday, May 7.
The Helly Hansen NOOD Regatta in Annapolis highlights the largest turnout in several years, with 220 teams registered to compete in 16 classes. In addition to one-design racing, 10 boats will participate in the North Sails Rally on Saturday, a race designed to give local crews on boats of any size the opportunity to participate in a single, day-long race.
In 2017, Sailing World magazine’s annual racing circuit, the National Offshore One Design (NOOD) Regatta Series, will revisit the country’s top sailing destinations for another five-stop series, culminating in a tropical championship regatta.
