When it comes time for the biggest racing yachts in Australia to flex their collective muscle, the SOLAS Big Boat Challenge, one of Sydney’s most spectacular sporting and harbour fixtures, has for 24 consecutive years marked the start of the Rolex Sydney Hobart lead-up events.

The impressive invitational fleet in 2017 – Beau Geste (Botin 80), Black Jack (Reichel-Pugh 100), Wild Oats X (Reichel/Pugh 66), and Wild Oats XI (Reichel Pugh 100) – traded punches December 12 around Sydney Harbor with the finish off the Sydney Opera House.
