Happy Winter Solstice 2017

Published on December 21st, 2017

The Northern Hemisphere is officially deep in winter as it experiences today – December 21 – the shortest daylight period. If you’re feeling a little glum this time of year, and your sailboat is wrapped up tight or sheltering under cover, remember that the winter solstice means the days will now get longer – the seasons will change and summer will return.

To keep that idea alive, take a look at just some of the sailing activity happening in the Southern Hemisphere (click here). Perhaps it will help while away the long winter hours and keep your next ‘Summer of Sailing’ at the forefront of your mind, and on your calendar.

Celebrate the winter solstice by setting some plans for your next Summer of Sailing. Let us know how you’ll celebrate sailing next June and share the anticipation for Summer Sailstice 2018 with sailors across the globe.

Add your 2018 Summer Sailstice sailing plans to the ‘Events’ page before midnight December 31st, 2017 and be in the running to win a headlamp from Mantus Anchors!
