I420 Midwinter Championship 2018

Forty-two boats competed in the 2018 International 420 Midwinter Championship, held February 17-19 in Miami, FL. As the largest class regatta in the USA in 29 years, Carmen and Emma Cowles (above) took the wire-to-wire win, edging out second place JC Hermus and Walter Henry (right) by four points in the eight race series. This event completed the USA qualifiers for the 2018 Youth Sailing World Championships, with both these teams now selected to compete in the men’s and women’s events. Details.
