Russians sweep Melges 20 Winter Series

Thirteen teams competed in the third event of the 3-stage Melges 20 Winter Series held March 16-18 in Miami, FL. After six races on Friday and Saturday, racing was abandoned Sunday when light air prevailed. Russians took the top two positions with Vladimir Prosikhin winning by two points over Igor Rytov with Alexis Michas (USA) a point further back in third.

Prosikhin and his NIKA team which included tactician Michele Ivaldi and crew Giorgio Tortarolo also conquered the 2017-18 Miami Winter Series, making them the first European team to ever win the overall title. For full series results… click here.
