Flying Scot Midwinters kept ashore

Published on March 27th, 2018

Sarasota, FL (March 27, 2018) – Strong winds kept the 61 teams ashore today for the second day of the 2018 Flying Scot Midwinter Championship.

Amid a sunny 80-degree background, the morning started with a respectable 17 mph wind but the gusts were as high as 32. It began to lay down a bit over the next few hours to about 14-15, but the gusts were still in the 20’s. The PRO postponed until 1:00 pm hoping conditions would ease, but the direction of the wind and the gusts made it too difficult to launch and get off the docks.

Racing was called off at 1:00 pm with the results unchanged from yesterday where a three-way tie for first finds Zeke and Jay Horowitz leading on countback. Racing continues to March 29.
