VIDEO: Fighting for bragging rights

While the 2017-18 edition of the Volvo Ocean Race may be done, the competitive spirit roars on for six of the female Olympians that raced around the world. Here are Martine Grael, Annalise Murphy, Jena Mai Hansen, Tamara Echegoyen, Nina Curtis and Marie Riou – with 2 gold, 2 silver and a bronze Olympic medal between them – fighting for bragging rights in an Optimist race.

Background: Racing the one design Volvo Ocean 65, the 2017-18 Volvo Ocean Race began in Alicante, Spain on October 22 2017 with the final finish in The Hague, Netherlands on June 30 2018. In total, the 11-leg race visited 12 cities in six continents: Alicante, Lisbon, Cape Town, Melbourne, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Auckland, Itajaí, Newport, Cardiff, Gothenburg, and The Hague.
