New significance to US Women’s Match Racing Championship

Bristol, RI (July 31, 2018) – World Sailing is preparing the Notice of Race for the 2019 Nations Cup, an international match racing championship, being held on April 9-14, 2019 at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, Calif. in the J/22.

Due to a change in dates for the Nations Cup Grand Final from October 2018 to April 2019, US Sailing can nominate the 2018 US Women’s National Champion skipper. The highest finishing team composed of all U.S. citizens or resident aliens at the 2018 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship, being held August 23-26, 2018 at the St. Francis Yacht Club, will become the 2018 U.S. National Champions.

To ensure all US women skippers have the opportunity to apply for this event, the application process has been extended through Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
