World Sailing Rankings – June 2019

The World Sailing Rankings seek to establish an order of ability based on the results of certain events over a 24 month period. The rankings focus on the 10 Olympic events and Open and Women’s Match Racing.

In match racing, Ian Williams (GBR) has stepped up to the top of the Open rankings, passing Eric Monnin (SUI) who drops to second with Harry Price (AUS) remaining in third. Among the women, Pauline Courtois (FRA) maintains her position at the front of the field while Anna Oestling (SWE) and Trine Palludan (DEN) have switched positions, with Oestling now in second and Palludan in third. Top North Americans are Nicole Breault (USA) and Chris Poole (USA) in 6th and 14th, respectively.

The fleet racing rankings in which the North Americans are in the top 20 include Canadians Sarah Douglas (3rd, Laser Radial), Tom Ramshaw (10th, Finn), and the following from the USA: Stu McNay/ Dave Hughes (5th, 470 Men), Erika Reineke (15th, Laser Radial), Paige Railey (17th, USA), Stephanie Roble/ Maggie Shea (11th, 49erFX Women), Charlie Buckingham (18th, Laser), Riley Gibbs/ Anna Weis (14th, Nacra 17), and Bora Gulari/ Louisa Chafee (20th, Nacra 17).
