More than a sport competition

Published on December 10th, 2019

The organizing team of the 2020 EDHEC Sailing Cup is preparing the 52nd edition to take place from April 17 to 25 in Arzon, France. This student association organizes the biggest student sporting event in Europe, with 3,200 participants annually coming from more than 160 universities all around the world to compete for three trophies:

• The Sea Trophy (the regatta)
• The Land Trophy (multi-sport raid)
• The Sand Trophy (sport events on sand)

During one week, the participants take part in the sport competition and in the evening they join together on the Night Village under the Chap’, the biggest short-lived club, where unforgettable parties take place.

More than a sport competition, the EDHEC Sailing Cup is an opportunity for students to be in touch with students from several prestigious universities such as HEC Lausanne, Oxford University, University of Chicago, ESADE and, of course the EDHEC Business School, 3rd French Business School.

Besides, it regularly happens that participants begin academic exchanges with those prestigious schools. On the village, there is also stands for companies, which are present to meet students, what made the EDHEC Sailing Cup the largest informal career fair.

During the week, international students are privileged thanks to the International Club and they have access to special activities. For instance, a food-testing takes place under the International Club for them to share their specialties. The EDHEC Sailing Cup is also present in the media, so it offers a visibility to the university when students perform a challenge.
