To Finish First, Episode 5: You & only you

The ‘To Finish First’ video series lifts the lid on life at Alex Thomson Racing, one of the world’s most formidable sailing teams. In Episode 5, we learn about the dangers that await the skippers who choose to leave their homes, their loved ones, and their comfort zones to race solo around the world.

The team’s goal is to win the Vendée Globe 2020-21, the ultimate solo non-stop round the world race in the IMOCA 60. However, after christening their new boat in September 2019, Alex Thomson and co-skipper Neal McDonald had to cut the keel off after damage forced them to withdraw November 3 from the 4350nm Transat Jacque Vabre.

Now the team must get back on track to achieve its goal.
