Ingham tops Thistle Midwinters East

Forty one Thistle Sailors competed in the 63rd Thistle Midwinters East Championships, held March 2-6 in St. Petersburg, FL. Sailors were greeted with beautiful breeze and sunshine for their week long event.

Eight races were completed throughout the event (2 races Monday, 3 races Tuesday, 2 races Wednesday, no racing Thursday due to high winds, and 1 race was completed Friday).

Mike Ingham, Dan Fien, and Marianne Schoke took an early lead, holding on strong throughout the event with a total of 29 points. Matt Fisher, Wayne Pignolet, and Sarah Paisley finished the event in second with 37 points. Jack Finefrock, Jesse Shedden, and Carrie Patterson would go on to win a tie breaker and end the event in third place with 59 points.
