American Magic records second capsize

Published on September 6th, 2020

Auckland, New Zealand (September 6, 2020) – News site Stuff reports that America’s Cup challenger American Magic capsized their AC75 Defiant while training on the eastern side of Browns Island in strong winds today. The team was able to upright the boat, and while not commenting on the incident, they did state how the team was able to complete “a full session”. It is the second capsize for the new AC75 Class, following Team New Zealand which tipped over their AC75 Te Aihe at low speed last December and were also able to quickly resume training.
