Cruising Helmsman is closing down
Published on November 27th, 2020
Scuttlebutt colleague Phillip Ross, editor of Cruising Helmsman, reports that Australia’s top-selling and circulating audited sailing magazine has come to an end:
This update is going out to all suppliers of editorial to the Cruising Helmsman magazine; either as article writers, public relations marketing managers, or the suppliers of goods and services to the sailing fraternity.
If you have received and read your December issue of Cruising Helmsman you may already be aware that the January 2021 issue will be the last edition. Sad day.
Current economic conditions have highlighted the hardship of continuing the magazine and it has been decided to close its cabin doors after over 40 years of publication.
To all the writers of the fine articles we published over the years I thank you for your support of the magazine and providing such useful material for all those other yacht owners to follow in your footsteps. I can tell you the magazine was held in high regard around the world for the quality of its information.
To all the industry providers, I am sorry that we can no longer provide you with the vehicle to promote your wares. I thank you for your support and even supplying your stuff for me to test. It has been a great.
Look out for my final editorial in the January issue and good luck to you all.
