Tokyo 2020: Last call for ILCA Euros

After the cancellation of Semaine Olympique Française 2021 in Hyeres due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the last European Olympic Qualification event for ILCA (International Laser Class Association) Laser and Laser Radial sailors will be held April 19-24 in Vilamoura, Portugal.

North American sailors Canadian Sarah Douglas and Americans Paige Railey and Charlie Buckingham, eager to continue their training for Tokyo 2020, are entered. For 2019 Pan American gold medalist Douglas, this competition – 2021 ILCA Vilamoura European Continental Qualification – will be her first major international event since the Laser Radial European Championships held last October in Poland.

“I’m looking forward to racing with an international fleet six months after the European Championships,” said Douglas. “Portugal’s conditions will allow me to hone my skills on the ocean waves and I always look forward to racing against the world’s best.”
