Qualifying begins at Vilamoura International Regatta

Vilamoura, Portugal (April 19, 2021) – With a lack of competition due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 ILCA Vilamoura International Regatta has attracted 227 Laser and Radial sailors. With the divisions starting with a qualifying round, Vasileia Karachaliou (GRE) and Anne-Marie Rindom (DEN) won both their races while Robert Scheidt (BRA) holds a slim lead with a 2-2. Top North Americans are Paige Railey (USA) in 16th and Charlie Buckingham (USA) in 13th.

Racing at the last European qualification event for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics is planned for April 19-24.
