Outdoor recreation closed in Ontario

(May 13, 2021) – Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford is keeping outdoor recreational activities like sailing closed for at least two more weeks, extending what he calls a “stay-at-home” order for Canada’s largest province until at least June 2. “Such a disappointing government announcement today but I’m still coming home to Toronto after 7 months away!” noted Tokyo 2020 Olympian Sarah Douglas. “Hopefully outdoor recreation will be open when I’m out of quarantine.” Ford earlier had tried to open up activities despite warnings from health experts, and then quickly closed things back down as COVID-19 infections spiked.
