So now in his fifties, as he figures out what to accomplish next in his life, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Joe Berlinger travels with the legendary windsurfer and pioneering waterman whose quest unexpectedly reveals his vulnerabilities as a competitor, mentor, and father.

The Longest Wave documentary sheds light on Naish’s career during transition from competing to life after professional sport, a perspective rarely documented.
