Top 20 for Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image

The 12th edition of the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image contest has advanced the top 20 images in the 2021 international photo competition for professional photographers dedicated to sailing as a competitive sport.

When presenting the top 80 images, contest administrators had failed to follow their rules in which images were required to have occurred in competition. However, it appears this oversight has been corrected when the jury narrowed the field.

The results of the international jury – Jo Aleh (NZL), Gilles Martin-Raget (FRA), Glenn Ashby (AUS), Nicolas Mirabaud (SUI) and Anne-Cécile Turner (FRA) – was led by Italy with five images in the top 20, ahead of France (3 images), New Zealand, the USA and Russia (2 images).

A secondary award is selected by public internet vote from the top 80 in which there remain several ineligible entries amid this top 20. The Public Award was dominated by France (6 photos), followed by Italy and Great Britain (3 images), Russia and Hungary (2 photos). The public vote closed November 3.

The winners for both awards will be revealed on December 9, 2021. The jury picks are below:
