Weis wins 2021 California Dreamin’ Series

Chris Weis won the 2021 California Dreamin’ Match Race Series, a 3-event circuit with events in San Francisco, San Diego, and Long Beach. After wins at the first two stages, Weis was runner-up in the finale on November 13-14 to David Hood and his team of Mark Callahan, Erik Shampain, Mal Parker, Erik Berzins, and Steve Flam. Competing with Weis was Haydon Stapleton, Ansel Roehn, Roberte Stevens, Dylan Finestone, Sterling Henken, and Alex Barrow.
The California Dreamin’ Series (CDS) consists of three match racing events: the St. Francis Yacht Club Stop on August 29-30, 2021 in J/22 type boats, the San Diego Yacht Club Stop on October 9-10, 2021 in J/22 type boats and the Long Beach Yacht Club Stop on November 13-14, 2021 in Catalina 37 type boats.
Up to eight skippers are accepted at each event. Any skipper entered in at least one of the three events is automatically entered in the series. Skippers who enter all 3 stops shall be given priority for entry acceptance at each stop.
In the series, Skippers shall receive points based on their final rankings in each of the three events in the CDS. Event points shall be allocated as described in the notice of series. Skippers shall receive zero event points for each event in the series that they do not enter.
