Entry open for Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image 2022

Initiated in 2010, the 13th edition of the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image contest invites professional photographer to submit their best image taken between October 5, 2021 and October 9, 2022. The 80 best images selected by the international jury will be published on the event website on October 20 and the winners celebrated on November 21.

Entrants must prove that they have regularly published pictures and been paid for their work.

The Main Prize will be selected by the international jury out of the 80 pictures pre-selected with a Public Award based on an open online vote between October 20 and November 15, 2022. A Special Award may also be awarded by the event organizers or the international jury at their discretion, if a photo justifies it or if exceptional circumstances allow or require it.

Unlike previous years when the subject of the photo was to be in competition, the rules now only stipulate that pictures must reflect the ‘spirit of yacht racing’ and may have been taken at any time – before, during, or after regattas. However, photos that do not relate with racing will not be accepted.

The prize-giving ceremony will take place in public during the 2022 Yacht Racing Forum in Malta. Various prizes, as well as a prize money, will be distributed among the winners.

Last year, 126 photographers representing 24 nationalities submitted an image for the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image award. The 2021 winner was French photographer Loïc Venance of AFP (click here).
