Welcome to the 26th year of Scuttlebutt

It was June 2022 when I questioned the future of Scuttlebutt Sailing News, and the response was unexpected and heartwarming. After 25 years of production, the publication clearly still meant a lot to a lot of people.

The basic format of the daily newsletter hadn’t changed much since it began in 1997, but feedback encouraged us in 2017 to launch The Weekly Wrap, a summary edition distributed once a week.

Now for 2023, we have merged the daily and summary publications, distributing an email newsletter twice a week to this larger audience, with breaking news provided when needed.

The Scuttlebutt website will continue to be the source for immediate information, with stories promptly pushed out on Scuttlebutt’s Facebook and Twitter channels. Another option is to subscribe for instant email notifications whenever the website is updated.

We can’t promise another 25 years, but we look forward to 2023, and will continue our mission to leave the sport in good hands for the next generation.
