Collegiate Women’s Team Race Nationals

Published on April 28th, 2023

The Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) will host the Women’s Team Race National Championship at Stanford University, April 29-30, 2023.

This marks the second year of this championship. Twelve teams will be competing for the title! Can Yale University hold the title from last year when they competed at Brown University? Will the College of Charleston or the University of Pennsylvania show their talent as they did not compete in last year’s championship?

The regatta will be held at the Stanford Rowing and Sailing Center in Redwood City, CA, in 420Es and FJs. Each day sailors will be reporting at 9:30 am PDT. The first round of racing is a single round robin with all 12 teams competing against each other. The top six from this round will advance to a round robin followed by a “final four” round robin.

The current forecast shows light winds ranging from West to Northwest. Which teams can execute their light air maneuvers while still holding Play 1? Stay tuned!

Conference Champions Receiving Automatic Qualification: Cornell University (MAISA), University of Michigan (MCSA), Yale University (NEISA), Stanford University (PCCSC), College of Charleston (SAISA), Tulane University (SEISA).

Full Field (Seeded): Yale University, Stanford University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, Tulane University, Boston College, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania, College of Charleston, and the University of Michigan.
