Canada’s Celebration of Sailing

Sail Canada, along with the Port Credit Yacht Club (PCYC), is inviting all Canadian sailing fans to Canada’s third annual Celebration of Sailing reception, which will be held at the PCYC on October 17, 2023.

Following the exciting conclusion of Sarah Douglas’ final races at the 2023 Sailing World Championships, where she qualified Canada for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the ILCA 6 class, this year’s reception will serve to celebrate that feat and so much more.

Canada’s Celebration of Sailing marks the pinnacle event of the season for the sport of sailing in Canada, where our nation’s high-performance sailors of past, present and future gather with welcomed guests to celebrate outstanding performances and experiences.

Guests will be treated with plentiful appetizers, complimentary beverages, and will enjoy a meet and greet session with members of the 2023 National Sailing Team and Development Squad, alumni, pros and our NextGen sailors; a send-off ceremony for Canada’s Santiago 2023 Pan American Games Sailing Team; launch of the countdown to the sailing competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; Stories from the Helm; a captivating panel interview with 4 or 5 Canadian Performance Sailors; the awarding of Sail Canada’s 2023 Rolex Sailor of the Year Award; and a complimentary gift.

A limited number of tickets available, https://www.sailing.ca/product/canadas-celebration-of-sailing/. Ticket holders will receive a donation tax receipt and all proceeds will go to Canada’s high performance sailing programs.

Nominate a sailor
Nominations are now open for Sail Canada’s 2023 Rolex Sailor of the Year Award, which is given out to individuals who have provided global recognition to Canadian sailing and Sail Canada. They are renowned leaders who have attained high levels of excellence in terms of results and accomplishments in worldwide events or activities. Along with recognition for exemplary sportsmanship, they have the respect of their fellow sailors.
