Published on September 12th, 2023

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will host a Sailing Program with ten events that feature 330 athletes, providing an even split between male and female sailors for the first time.

As each nation must qualify to compete in the Olympics, the first opportunity saw 107 entry slots secured at the 2023 Allianz Sailing World Championships held in The Hague, Netherlands.

Great Britain and The Netherlands led the way with eight each, followed by Spain and Italy with seven places earned, while Germany and New Zealand have six. As host nation, ten places are allocated to France. Canada gained entry in the ILCA 6 while USA earned slots in the 49er, 49erFX, ILCA 6, and Women’s Formula Kite.
