Whitecap: The Canadian Sailing Podcast

In partnership with Sail Canada, David Cripton hosts a podcast series focusing on Canadian sailing called Whitecap, with this episode featuring Canadian icon Andy Roy.

His career highlights include 2nd place in Laser Worlds in 1982 and 6th in 1983, also earning a Silver medal at the 1983 Pan Am Games in Venezuela.

He then shifted to bigger boats with the role of tactician in the 1987 Canadian challenge for the America’s cup in Australia with Canada 2. Additionally, he was the principal helmsman for teams completing in the Canada’s Cup and Admirals Cup.

Roy continues as one of the top ILCA Masters sailors in the world today, finishing second at the worlds three times and is a 3-time Canadian Champion.
