Whitecap: The Canadian Sailing Podcast

In partnership with Sail Canada, David Cripton hosts a podcast series focusing on Canadian sailing called Whitecap, with this episode meeting with Thomas Fogh and Signe Ronka – the authors of a new book called called Plan Sail Track: The Ultimate Sailing Guidebook.

Fogh is the director of sailing at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. As an athlete, he competed internationally, with top ten finishes at world and international championships in multiple classes including Solings, Lasers, and Tornado classes. He then moved into coaching provincial, National, and Olympic caliber athletes.

Ronka is the owner and head coach of flexafit, an internationally recognized figure skating fitness training organization. As an athlete, she has been on the podium in both national and international championships, and as a coach she has worked with skaters from beginner level to Olympic champions.

This episode got into sailing specific fitness programs, Thomas’ famous father Hans’ dedication to fitness, as well as the satisfaction these very accomplished coaches get from seeing their athletes improve.
