College Culture and Demographic Survey

In 2020, The Inclusivity, Diversity, and Equity Task Force for College Sailing (ICSA TIDE) was formed and a mission was outlined. The mission statement recognized inadequate data to appropriately establish a baseline and track changes in the culture and demographics of College Sailing progress.

This realization initiated the first ICSA TIDE Culture and Demographic Survey and Report (click here). Since its initial publication in 2020, the report has been a key component of education and discussions within TIDE and individual teams. It was also acknowledged as a unique project within the athletics realm and has been cited in various articles.

As a continuation of ICSA TIDE’s first survey, the 2022 edition has been released (click here) with several new questions to further ICSA TIDE’s mission while checking on progress in regards to sailor retention and other initiatives.
