Paris 2024: USA gets preppy athleisure

Since 2008, Ralph Lauren has outfitted Team USA at nine consecutive Olympics and Paralympics, designing uniforms for athletes to wear at opening and closing ceremonies as well as a broader capsule wardrobe for their use during and after the Games.

And for this summer’s Olympics, the brand is bringing its quintessential take on Americana and preppy athleisure to Paris, the fashion capital of the world — the new collection “draws inspiration from the dynamic and vibrant host city,” a statement from the brand reads, “and embraces a patriotic spirit reflected in a signature palette of red, white, and blue.” – Full report

Editor’s note: Nothing screams athletics like the Ralph Lauren logo of the polo player atop the horse. While the Opening Ceremony blazer will look good forever at Fourth of July parades, the Closing Ceremony uniform will live on at Halloween parties as NASCAR driver kit.
