Eight Bells: Tommy Tognarelli

Published on August 14th, 2024

Tommy Tognarelli, 41, co-founder of charter specialists PlainSailing.com, lost his battle with cancer on June 24, 2024 in Stockport, UK.

As one of the founders (alongside his twin brother Adi), Tommy was instrumental in shaping the company ever since its launch in 2013, with a mission to try and make booking a sailing holiday easy.

Tommy was brilliant at managing bookings, priding himself on his response times and the company’s 5/5 feefo rating, and had lots of happy repeat customers, including many who would simply WhatsApp him direct to ask for boat availability!

On top of his work at PlainSailing, he was a star in the local community too – he was a Scout Leader for over 20 years, helping thousands of kids, and co-founded the Marple Beer Run, which has raised in excess of £20,000 for local causes.

He leaves behind his wife Fallon and four girls, the eldest just 8 years old. He really was taken far too soon.
