All systems go for Admiral’s Cup return
Published on December 2nd, 2024
The countdown is on as the Admiral’s Cup, organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), will return to the spotlight on July 19-31. Two boat teams from across the globe are rallying for the 2025 return of this legendary event, previously considered to be the unofficial world cup for offshore racing.
Teams are already gearing up, with many planning to start training and racing in the Solent as early as April 2025. This early preparation sets the stage for a gathering of phenomenal boats and world-class competition in UK waters.
Initially established in 1957, the event burned itself out amid rising stakes, with a lack of interest cancelling the 2001 event. While rekindled in 2003, the flame then went out for good, but a re-imagined series in 2025 hopes to again bring together the international community for a breathtaking event of hi-tech racing. – Full report
