Joy To Your Boating World

A recent study revealed that 59% of Americans considered the highest measure of success to be happiness – and the ability to spend money on the things or experiences that brought them the greatest joy. People in the study were asked to select the top three types of success they valued most. Free time to pursue personal passions and physical well-being came in second and third in the measure of success.

I have spent most of my life getting people involved in boating and this study serves to confirm something I’ve known for some time: to a degree, we don’t just fix or service boats, but instead serve as a “merchants of joy.” I’ve seen firsthand how time spent on the water and sharing this passion with friends and family has helped to bring lasting and profound happiness to so many of our customers. Yes, there are financial costs associated with the pursuit of boating, but as they say, “it’s only money” and the joy of boating is truly priceless.

So, this study serves as a small reminder this Holiday Season: to embrace your family and friends… and don’t forget to give your boat a hug too! Your boat is more than a vessel; it is a crucible for all the good times that are yet to come. From our nautical family to yours, I wish you a happy, healthy and a joyously seaworthy New Year!
