Entry open for Offshore Double Handed World Championship

Published on February 28th, 2025

The Notice of Race for the 2025 Offshore Double Handed World Championship has been published by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), with the mixed crew event using the Sun Fast 30 One Design. Racing will be September 22-October 1 at Cowes, Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom.

RORC is inviting respective Member National Authorities (MNAs) to register a team and pay a deposit. Team details can be finalized at a later date, and each MNA is allocated up to two invitations.

If more than 28 teams have been registered, a selection panel, appointed by World Sailing, will select teams and the hosts will issue invitations with the objective of maximizing geographical distribution of the competitors.

The competition will consist of up to two qualification races, a repechage race, if needed and conditions allow, and a final race.

“The racing area in the Solent and English Channel is one of the most historic and challenging racing locations in the sport,” commented RORC CEO Jeremy Wilton. “It is complex, offering many tactical and strategic possibilities.”
