Published on March 4th, 2025

San Diego Yacht Club (SDYC) announced that registration is now open for the highly anticipated 2025 Yachting Cup, San Diego’s premier spring regatta. Celebrating its 53rd year, the event will take place from May 2 to May 4, 2025 and offers an unforgettable experience for sailors across a variety of fleets. The early entry fee deadline is April 15.

Invited Classes include One Design, PHRF, ORR, and Classics, and will race on one of two courses; the inside course on San Diego Bay City Front and the Pacific Ocean course, Coronado Roads.

The Yachting Cup is a Southern California staple regatta, offering the perfect mix of intense competition on the water, and camaraderie on shore. The 2025 classes included Beneateau 36.7s, Classics, J/105s, J/111s, J/22s, J/24s, ORR EZ1-2 and PHRF.

The traditional Friday fun race, the Ton Cup, will be held in La Playa basin just off the SDYC docks on the Club owned J/22s. The event is included for all Yachting Cup entrants.

Aside from top tier on-the-water events, the Yachting Cup will also host social events including a Welcome Party on Friday night, the Yachting Cup Party on Saturday night, and an Awards Ceremony on Sunday after racing. Attendees can look forward to a DJ Friday and a live band, John Fretwell’s Gin n’ Jukes, Saturday, and exceptional food and beverages all three days!
