New allegations against Kevin Escoffier

Published on March 7th, 2025

The legal spotlight remains fixed on offshore professional sailor Kevin Escoffier since his alleged sexual assault to a woman during The Ocean Race 2022-23 stopover in Newport, RI. While his 18 month ban by the French Sailing Federation was overturned due to a procedural error, Escoffier is now accused of additional incidents of sexual misconduct beyond Newport.

Escoffier was questioned again by the police on February 10 and taken into custody as investigators have identified ten potential victims. These new allegations suggest that Escoffier’s inappropriate behavior was not an isolated incident, but rather a pattern of misconduct over time.

“The Escoffier file is getting thicker and thicker,” the source told the daily newspaper Ouest France. Prosecutor Eric Pouder told the AFP news agency that “the preliminary investigation is ongoing.” Escoffier is in danger of being shipwrecked – on land. – Full report
