• News from across the world of sailing
The March episode of the World Sailing Show begins in Los Angeles with SailGP as New Zealand, Australia and Canada were impressive, while it was heartbreak for Emirates GBR who missed out on the final by a single point. Catch all the action from a frenetic weekend before the fleet moves on to the next round in San Francisco.
Next, the World Sailing Show focuses on the start of a new chapter in The Ocean Race. Returning for its second edition, The Ocean Race Europe will begin in Kiel, Germany, on 10 August, where eight teams will take in five ports across the continent, from Kiel to Boka Bay in Montenegro via Portsmouth, Cartagena and Genova. The Ocean Race Atlantic will get underway in 2026 with the next edition of the round the world race set for 2027.
Lanzarote kicked off the new Olympic cycle in January, and the focus has remained on the island as the 49ers, ILCAs and 470s raced as part of the Lanzarote International Regatta. The World Sailing Show has all of the action and reaction from the winners and headline makers.
The World Sailing Show joins the teams for the start of this season’s 44Cup in Nanny Cay in the British Virgin Islands for opening round. Nine teams battled fierce winds but with four different race winners over the nine rounds, the event delivered exceptional racing.
Staying in the Caribbean, the World Sailing Show switches to Antigua for the start of the 16th edition of the RORC Caribbean 600 where 66 boats began the 600nm journey around 11 islands before returning to Antigua.
There is also a roundup of all the latest action including the inaugural Foiling Week Pensacola, iQFOiL Cadiz, the final Vendée Globe finishers, behind the scenes at the Etchells World Championships, and a preview of this year’s Steering the Course which will focus on pathways for talented female sailors, coaches and officials.
