Conference to support women in sailing

Published on April 1st, 2025

The National Women’s Sailing Association (NWSA) is expanding their 2025 National Women’s Sailing Association Conference to three days for June 6-8 at the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg, FL. The organization, which will be celebrating its 35th anniversary, will have workshops for women sailors of all skill levels, ages and backgrounds.

The programming includes the popular Take the Helm® track — an introduction to sailing for women – plus a view into the marine industry and opportunities to meet accomplished cruisers and racers. Keynote speakers feature Tracy Edwards, MBE, world racer and Project Manager of The Maiden Factor, and NWSA Founder and National Sailing Hall of Famer Doris Colgate.

There will be more than 30 different classes at different levels to choose from with up to 15 going on concurrently. During the conference, NWSA will announce and introduce the 2025 BoatUS/NWSA Leadership in Women’s Sailing Award recipient. This award recognizes an individual with a record of achievement in inspiring, educating, and enriching the lives of women through sailing.
