After seeing boats on the bay, a passerby decided it was time to fulfill their lifelong goal to go sailing. They had always wanted to learn, and share the activity with friends, but the timing wasn’t right. Now it was, but they didn’t know the first step.

Tim Labute, Editor in Chief of Practical Sailor, wanted to help and he created a video to answer the Top 10 most asked sailing questions.

“I was so fearful of making the wrong decision on which boat to buy I could never pull the trigger,” said @SailorChic after watching. “Finally, I heard the saying ‘Your first boat will always be the wrong boat.’ It freed me up because I thought I might not buy the right boat, but I could easily buy the wrong one. We bought a boat and learned so much on it. Was it the right one for us, yes and no, but it got us out on the water and we learned so much.”
