Published on December 2nd, 2025
The 2025 ISCA (Sunfish) World Championships are being held December 5-12 in Salinas, Ecuador. Racing gets underway on December 5-7 for the Youth, Women’s, and Masters World Championships. This is the inaugural Women’s World Championship, with 70 competitors entered across the three divisions.
The 54th ISCA World Championship will be held December 9-12, featuring 85 sailors representing 16 countries. Among the top contenders are three-time ISCA World Champion Jean Paul de Trazegnies (PER), defending champion Conner Blouin (USA), two-time champion Jonathan Martinetti (ECU), and Olympian Luke Ramsay (CAN).
Peru’s Caterina Romero—five-time top female at previous ISCA World Championships—is expected to be a strong contender in both the Women’s and Open fleet. Ecuador’s Maria José Cucalón, last year’s top female finisher in the Open Worlds, will also be one to watch as she continues her rapid ascent in the class.
Zim Sailing, the exclusive builder of the ISCA, is supplying 68 brand-new boats. In addition, all competitors will be issued new North Sails to further equalize the boats.
