Change of helm at Quantum Sails

Published on January 7th, 2026

Quantum Sails has promoted Andrew Scott in the position of President, effective January 1, 2026. Ed Reynolds, President since 2007, has been associated with Quantum Sails since 1996.

Scott began working for his father’s sail loft as a boy, and joined Quantum in 2009 as Vice President of Operations and Quality Control, and most recently was Quantum’s Chief Operating Officer.

He previously was a professional sailor for ten years, having competed in the 2003 America’s Cup trials, TP52 Super Series, and 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials for the Star Class.

“Ed Reynolds a legend of sailmaking, an elite leader of teams both on and off the water, and an honest and open friend and colleague,” noted Scott. “It has been a pleasure working alongside him for these past 16 years.”

Reynolds is moving into semi-retirement but will continue with a specific focus on Quantum’s ongoing support of its customers in grand prix racing classes.
