As the sport contracts, so does the marine industry. While prominent brands remain, ownership consolidation has hit sailmakers, magazines, and cloth manufactures. The latter slipped by last year when Sioen Industries, owner of Dimension-Polyant, acquired Contender Sailcloth.

This move brought together two prestigious names in sailcloth manufacturing, under the umbrella of Sioen Sailcloth Technologies.
