Stranded yacht for sale in Mallorca

Cheaper than a cappuccino, this stunning 92-foot-long sailing yacht with 5,000 liters of fuel in its tanks is on sale for a single dollar, but there is a big catch.

Some men spend hundreds of millions to buy a superyacht, and then there are others willing to part with theirs for as little as one euro. That is the surreal position surrounding Acoa, the luxury German sailing yacht stranded in the waters of Mallorca.

One of its co-owners, 68-year-old skipper Klaus Fietzeck, has now said he wants out, so badly that he is offering his share for just €1. Fellow owner Franz Osthoff has also spoken publicly as the grounding turns into a messy, expensive stalemate. – Full report
