WANTED: New buyer for Tahe Outdoors

The 2026 O’pen Skiff North American Un-Regatta will be on March 20-22 in San Diego, CA. While the Class has proven to be an excellent alternative to the Optimist and other prams for the youth sailor, problems behind the scenes are raising questions about the future.

The O’pen Skiff is manufactured by Tahe Outdoors in France which has been kept afloat for the past two years by shareholder investment. But when this support stopped, the Vannes Commercial Court placed the company in receivership on February 26, 2026 and is looking for a new buyer.

There are sixty entrants for the Nationals, but when a container of 50 charter boats got cancelled, the impact could be significant as over half the fleet are from out of state and as far as Georgia, Hawaii, and Thailand.
