Kevin Escoffier on trial for sexual assault

Published on March 31st, 2026

Activists from the feminist group #NousToutes (All of Us) gathered in front of the criminal court in Lorient, France, on March 30. They are protesting against the accused ocean sailor Kevin Escoffier (FRA), who is on trial for sexual assault. The movement actively campaigns against sexualized violence against women and children in France.

The French press is already waiting for the former sailing star in the courtroom on the first day of the trial. Escoffier has been charged with sexual assault against four women, which, according to the indictment, took place between 2017 and 2023 in Newport (USA), Itajaí (Brazil), Lorient and Melbourne (Australia). The maximum penalty for these offenses in France is five years in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros.

The allegations became public when Escoffier, who was skipper of Team Holcim-PRB during The Ocean Race 2023, resigned his position. – Full report
