LA28 Olympics: Apply to volunteer
Published on July 15th, 2026
US Sailing members and friends are invited to apply to serve as Games-time volunteers for the LA28 Olympic Games.
What you need to know:
Most volunteer roles will be based at venues in the Los Angeles area and will not be on the water.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old at the time of application, proficient in spoken and written English, and available to complete a minimum of 10 non-consecutive shifts during the Olympic Games volunteer period. The online application takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and includes questions about your skills, experience, and interests.
Applications will be reviewed individually. Selection is not on a first-come, first-served basis.
Certified officials who have applied to serve as National Technical Officials (NTOs) for the Games should also complete this Games-time volunteer application.
To apply:
Go to http://volunteer.la28.org and click the “Apply” button
To indicate that you have sailing experience, please add the codes indicated below. Application codes are not required, and they do not guarantee you will get a Games-time volunteer role, but they will help LA28 understand more about your skills and experience.
After applications close, you will be notified via email and in the portal if you are invited for an assessment. Assessment invitations, along with role offers and training for those selected, will occur on a rolling basis throughout 2027, with more details to come.
Application codes:
(Please do not share these outside of the sailing community. They will be turned off if they are leaked more broadly.)
